Company X is a distribution company with one main warehouse and several smaller satellite warehouses (distribution centers). They want to stock items in the main warehouse and only send the required quantities to the satellite warehouses. In addition to this, one of the satellite warehouses (BLUE) has its own range of product (Item Category ‘HIFI’) that is only stocked in this warehouse. This can be accomplished by the following exceptions:
Exception No. 10 makes sure that all SKUs at the satellite warehouses are set with a Reordering Policy as Order.
Exception No. 20 makes sure that items with Category Code ‘HIFI’ are not stocked in other warehouses then BLUE. Exception No. 30 and 40 makes sure that the SKUs for ‘HIFI’ items are set with a Reordering Policy as Fixed Reorder Qty. and with a Safety Stock based on a Service Factor (95 for all items except AA items that will have 99).
