Upgrades

It is important to have a clear Dynamics NAV & 365 Business Central upgrade strategy. There are typically two types of strategies that we see; the first one are the companies that are upgrading every second year and the second one are the companies that keeps the current version for 8-10 years before upgrading it (this then becomes more of a re-implementation than an upgrade). There is not a right or wrong, it depends a lot on what business you are in and the solution you have.

Microsoft is working towards making upgrades easier, they have released object merge tools that are very good and quite recently they introduced events and extensions, two ways of making modifications that does not interfere with upgrades. Microsoft have also started to more frequently release updates, there is a major version released each year and updates that also includes new functionality are released once a month. These are changes that will make is easier and valuable to stay current on the versions.

We do upgrades of older versions of Microsoft Dynamics NAV (or Navision as it was called earlier) to the latest version on Dynamics NAV.
