Company X is specialized in assembling customized bicycles for customers. They are operating in an Assemble-To-Order environment where it is only required to have components and semi-manufactured items in stock.
As an exception to the above they do have one standard bicycle (Item No. 1000) that they want to have in stock. This can be accomplished by the following exceptions:
Exception No. 10 makes sure that all items that are setup to be produced with a low-level code as 0 will have a Reordering Policy Order (low-level code 0 means items that doesn’t exists as components on any production bill of materials). Exception No. 20 makes sure that item no. 1000 will have a Reordering Policy as Fixed Reorder Qty. and a Safety Stock Service Level as 99.
