The Document Barcode Scan feature allows users to scan barcodes to perform various actions. The barcodes are generated by the system at the time of printing documents, such as job cards, material requisitions, pick lists, etc. The Document Barcode system can be used on both a tablet, phone, mobile scanner and in the full web client on a terminal and it greatly simplifies the tasks as the user does not have to look for the record in Business Central.

The barcodes can either be added to existing printouts or the provided printouts can be used. The provided printouts that are part of the manufacturing solution are the Job Card and Material Requisition (the warehouse solution provides similar functions as barcodes on printouts like the pick list, receipts, etc..).
