Barcoding Solution

The Document Barcode Scan feature allows users to scan barcodes to perform various actions. The barcodes are generated by the system at the time of printing documents, such as job cards, material requisitions, pick lists, etc. The Document Barcode system can be used on both a tablet, phone, mobile scanner and in the full web client on a terminal and it greatly simplifies the tasks as the user does not have to look for the record in Business Central.

The different types of actions that can be performed with the Document Barcode are as follows;

  • – Release Prod. Order
  • – Start Operation
  • – Stop Operation
  • – Register Downtime
  • – Post Consumption
  • – Post Output
  • – Finish Prod. Order
  • – Capture
  • – Create Put-Away for Purchase Order
  • – Create Pick for Warehouse Shipment
  • – Create Pick for Production Order
  • – Create Pick for Sales Order
  • – Find and Open the following on the screen:
    • — Warehouse Put-Away
    • — Warehouse Movement
    • — Warehouse Pick
    • — Inventory Put-Away
    • — Inventory Pick
    • — Warehouse Receipt
    • — Warehouse Shipment
    • — Transfer Order
    • — Inventory Movement
    • — Simulated Production Order
    • — Planned Production Order
    • — Firm Planned Production Order
    • — Released Production Order
    • — Finished Production Order

The barcodes can either be added to existing printouts or the provided printouts can be used. The provided printouts that are part of the manufacturing solution are the Job Card and Material Requisition (the warehouse solution provides similar functions as barcodes on printouts like the pick list, receipts, etc..). The Job Card barcodes looks like below as an example;

Scanning the different barcodes then performs the different actions.

All the functions to generate the barcodes are available to use on any custom printouts by utilization functions in codeunit 14172801 “NMS Document Barcode Mgt.”.
